I am a NOVICE BEGINNER and new member, From NC in USA with Saxifraga Bushes + more:
I started butterfly bushes from a storm damaged bush and others, including some various cedars dug from the wild, some are maples....I don't know their Latin names....all probably 2-3 years old. If one maple doesn't make it (They've been potted about a month or so now) it will have a great trunk and maybe some wiring it is about 2.5feet tall. Short one and I think different species has great root potential.
The cedars: I need to get Pics up so they can be identified, one is shaped like an arrowhead and the other was a Christmas tree decoration last Christmas that has done well at home. I think it is a spruce of sorts. Haven't messed with it too much yet other than trimming one ?trunklette? off to make an odd number of 3 coming out of pot....not sure if they are from same tree trunk or if it is going to be a "Mini Forest"
The Butterfly bushes I feel will be easiest as I know they Root well, but I need some styling suggestions ESPECIALLY with this bush that I understand from reading makes a most effective Bonsai.
Thank you for any info you can offer |

Hi there.
Can you be a bit more specific with the naming of the plants, please.
Over on this side of the pond, the term "butterfly bush" is applied to buddleia davidii, but I don't know if it's the same in your neck of the woods.
Also, what species of saxifrage are you talking about? I'm ashamed to admit that i only know of herbaceous members of the genus, and can't think of any shruby ones. |

JJ, Got your e-mail, replied but it bounced back.
You can't post pictures in Talk Bonsai using BB code.
Post them in any other board using the picture upload facility.
