Mo that looks like bad, and sad, news. I looked up the White House website, which gives:

comments@whitehouse.gov.

as the appropriate email. It doesn't promise a reply but I have emailed the President telling him briefly how historically important these bonsai are, and pleading with him not to reduce funding. I hope others do something similar, to build up a pressure of opinion.
