A while ago now I bought a pretty dead looking Chinese Elm from B and Q. It was reduced to £2 and although there wasn't a live leaf on it I thought I would try.
Well, for weeks I watered and waited but nothing happened. The bark was still green though. Finally I re potted it in a better mix, cut back all the branches and watered and watered whenever it needed it with superthrive.
Two days before I was going on my holls it grew buds. A friend of mine was so amazed she took it home with her to "mother".
When I came home I was surprised to find that the buds had opened and now it has quite a few small branches starting with lots of healthy green leaves.
Just thought I would share.
