Acer Palmatum

I've just bought a small Acer Palmatum its about 6" tall in a small
2" x 2" pot. I was wondering if i could re pot it in a bigger pot or
do i have to wait until next year .
Can anyone give me any tips.

If you intend to simply pot up into a bigger pot without disturbing the roots, yes it will be ok to do it now
