Bought two new trees last week.Got them for very little.A Juniper and a Cypress.Both have a couple of branches that the needles are totally brown.Do I remove these branches or remove the needles.If I remove the needles will new needles appear next year???Other wise these two Trees are very healthy.Thanks!!!

Hi Chris,
Would removing them affect the balance of the tree
If you can answer yes to this then
You could initially try removing the needles and see if it buds up again if not then whip them off
Then at least you have tried.
and then its back to another style up |

| If its brown and crispy then its dead and safe to remove, or make a jin of it. If there is no green then I dont think that anything will be coming back |

| I have a chinese juniper that lost all of its foliage one year. it just kept dying off in small increments so that eventually it was totally bare. I don't know why, but I kept it watered and took care of it jsut as if it was in full foliage. The following spring, I notioced a very tiny dormant bud swell at the base of a couple of branches and five years later, the tree looked better than it did before all the problems started. Maybe that was a fluke, but its the truth. |
