Since I started with building my website, I wanted a dictionary about Japanese bonsai related terms on it. After searching the net, and reading much books, I managed to create a nice dictionary...

This is the result for now...

http://home.euphonynet.be/hv66bonsai/hv66bonsai-uk/dictionary-uk.html

I am still looking for new entries, or if you noticed an error, please feel free to contact me. Every bit can help...

Kind regards,

Hans.

Hans,

Very nice of you to complie such a listing. For the purists who use only the Japanese terms, this is a great dictionary. They are international in their scope. But most of us who are English speaking use English terms rather than the Japanese. I guess it's just easier to say "Windswept style" rather than try to remember if it's supposed to be "fukinagashi" or "fukinagashi-kengai" or any other such thing. Don't get me wrong. It's god to know that therre are such terms that are that specific in the formal practices of bonsai. But even grand masters use simpler descriptors than the formalized terms. Smile
