Hi all,

I've been researching bonsai books recently and was wondering what the good folks of Bonsai Help thought on the subject.

If you could only have one bonsai book, what would it be and why? I'd be interested in replies from members of all levels. Suggestions for a great all-round book would also be much appreciated. Thanks.

Kind regards,

Leyton

I would go with Herb Gustafson's 'Bonsai Workshop' as it had the most step by step pictures of any book I've seen. He also talks about some of the lesser known styles and covers a broad range of techniques.- If you wanted a tech manual.
If you wanted a more horticultural manual it would be 'Bonsai' by Harry Thomlinson as it coves so many species of plants and trees to use in bonsai.
Not to be a party pooper but just one book can't cover it all.

Leyton. We have a discussion and evaluation of books going on in the 'hardware' thread.
