Hello Smile

I think this may have been discussed some time back but I'm not sure where.

I've decomposed comfrey leaves in a bucket - lovely dark oozy liquid - and wonder whether anyone's used it for their bonsai? What dilution would you suggest, one in ten?

Thanks.

Penny. As its used medicinally, there should be nothing injurious in comfrey. It contains alkaloids and tannins and some volatile oils. As we don't know the strength of your 'stew' its not possible to give a dilution guide. Try it on some of your less precious specimens first but not on recently cut roots. I would imagine that if it is added to your water to just colour it, there will only be positive results.

Thanks for the advice, Stymie. Much appreciated.

I'll try it on the forsythia I've been given and some roses.

Will let you know how they fare.
