The Bonsai School is definitely a great resource. I joined up a few weeks before getting my first tree, and by the time it arrived I already knew how to care for it, mix my own potting medium and had tons of ideas on how to style it come spring.

There were also a lot of little tidbits of information you won't find in books but turn out to be real helpful from time to time. I recomend it for anyone interested in bonsai, whether you're new to the art or a long time enthusiast, artist, or collector.

Hi Andrew

The "Articles" are a valuable addition to the Bonsai School. I joined after buying my first bonsai on an impulse and then realised what an awesome responsibility I had taken on - A Bonsai is not just for Christmas... Shocked The site is really informative, the members are friendly and their willingness to offer advice is outstanding Very Happy

Thanks for all your time and effort pushing the buttons!

Regards
Nigel

I am the only bonsai addict in my area, and relied heavily on information from books and videos. The problem with this was that I couldn't clarify with the authors any points I couldn't quite understand.

Finding this site was just the best thing I could have done. It's certainly informative, but I think the best thing is being able to ask questions and have them answered quickly and in a really friendly and non-patronising way.

The members who have lots of practical expertise give so generously of their time and knowledge that it's impossible not to learn from them, while those of us who are novices feel comfortable in asking any sort of question, whether basic or otherwise - and sometimes repetitive.

Membership is highly recommended, and is worth many times the small amount of money involved.

The reason I joined the bonsai school a few years ago was because I was looking for a source for help. I had a Black Japanese Pine that had something wrong and was unsure of what to do. With lots of help from everyone from BH, I found out the bonsai had needle cast and I treated the tree and it lives still! I am so happy about that as the tree is around 80 or so years old and I inherited it in an sale. A man died from one of the clubs that makes up the Potomac Bonsai Society here in the Washington Metropolitan Area- half his trees went to the National Arboretum and half went for sale and I bit on this pine. It is a big responsibility to keep the tree in the same health I received it in but with the help of all my new friends at BH, well, I think I can do it!
That was the reason I went looking for some help even though I belong to a bonsai club here in Northern Virginia- I find my club not nearly as helpful as all my new friends at BH. So happy to be here and to have met everyone!

If you are looking for information on anything bonsai then this is the place to be. You get answers that come from a wide range of expertise and backgrounds. Also everyone is friendly and encouraging. Been here a week or so and have been spending longer and longer every night reading what others are doing.

You will not find a better site for bonsai help.

Ed

I joined last May and it's made a world of difference. I had tried to grow bonsai off and on for years, and I just couldn't understand why nothing would grow... Imagine my surprise when I found out:
1. I'm not the only person who ever had that difficulty.
2. There are some very easy fixes (usually Wink ) for my bonsai woes.

Everyone here was so nice, even though I was obviously a beginner and had not even bothered to read up on the subject. They pointed me in the right direction for care, tools, reading material, and even the correct trees for my area. I now have several beautiful bonsai that have not only survived, but thrived in my care. The price I paid for a full membership was NOTHING compared to the cost of trees I lost because of my ignorance. I'll be forever grateful, Y'all! Mr. Green

If it wasn't for the articles and people on here both my trees wouldn't be here today.........

Everyone is so friendly here and will jump to the chance to help if they can.

I was very reluctant to hand over money to join but then i thought why not its not even £1 per month its 50pence per month!!!!! well i defiantly got my money worth already i got it back in knowledge in how to save my trees!!

Anyone who owns/going to buy a bonsai tree this site is a must, it will save you money in the long run

BonsaiHelp.co.uk is without a doubt the most friendly and enjoyable place to discuss the art of Bonsai anywhere on the web.

There maybe lots of places on the Internet where you can discuss Bonsai but no where is so welcoming and friendly for newcomers.

Grab yourself some bonsai shears and a subscription to BonsaiHelp.co.uk and get creating.

I got first bonsai, i was lost, and pretty much stayed lost with only FEVERISH reading. Then i ran across BONSAI SCHOOL on eBay and my trees love me for it. And now i feel like i kinda get it. And I'm up to about 40 trees with a greater knowledge of this grandest of hobbies.
THANK YOU ALL FOR SAVING
