I have noticed at work that one of the mature Gingkos has got a low shoot growing out of it, which I thought may make an ideal cutting

I would normally take cuttings leaving a heal on it, obviously I am not going to be able to get a heal on this as it is growing straight out of the trunk. Could anyone tell me what would be the best method of using this as a cutting |

| Hardwood cuttings taken in Autumn are favoured. That doesn't look very hard. Cut it just below the bottom leaf, take the bottom two leaves off, dip it in 'Clonex' and set in a sandy mix. A plastic bag to maintain humidity would be helpful but don't let it touch the leaves. |

Would it be best left outside once I have put the cutting in the pot? |

The mature tree must be a fair size, any chance of a picture of the whole thing Nige?
It'd be nice to see how they grow naturally. |
