| Bought a ficus a few months ago, and it seamed to have 5 separate trunks coming out of the soil... i decided today to separate them, but as i got further it seamed that they were all connected by a small chute and 2 were actually completely connected... of course the dead is done now, and i now have 4 trees, but i just wondered if i should have left them alone? |

| Can't say a lot without seeing them Cath. As long as they've all got roots, you'll be able to make something of them I'm sure. Join up and show us if you can or give us a URL if you're reluctant. Good luck. |

Hello Catherine,
Nice to meet you. Hope to see your ficus "in person" soon. Four for the price of one, can't be bad!
Bye,
Penny. |

| Getting 4 for 1 is a good deal! Don't be discouraged if there is leaf drop to accompany the separation of the trees. It would happen if you only repotted the ficus. They are notorious for dropping leaves for any reason at all. |

Photos look exactly as I anticipated them to be. Don't be surprised if a few leave yellow and fall off. It's in the nature of the plants.
Also, I'd really urge you to become a fully registered members of this forum. Then you can post your photos of trees directly within your posted messages in the Classroom, etc. forums. It's only a niminal fee but the information sharing is far more diverse and interesting. |

Cath
I have seen your plant before, though I can't put my finger on a name right now. One thng is that I don't believe iot is in the aloe family nor a succulent. If I find it, I'll post what I find. |

thank you jackboy for trying, it is a suculant that is for certain, but the leaves are thin, and no thorns are on it... also unlike the pic on the site this plants blooms are very small and well... about the size of an ant... i also thought it was an aloe... the girl at the nursary... also said no, and had all kinds or books on just about any plant you could think of... even suculants.... but still couldn't find it... i'm stumped. i know it's not bonsai related, but I did get it from a bonsai person if that makes it fit in even the slightest bit... lol I don't know... it's just driving me crazy not knowing. |
