Hi LG,

This particular bamboo has always piqued my interest. However, it is not at all easy to find here in the states. And actually, in all the years that I have been at this hobby, I have only seen one in a bonsai pot several years ago. From what I have surmised, I believe that it is not an easy bamboo to grow, but others may disagree.

Its a while since I had one but keep in partial shade, likes a lot of water, feed with high nitrates as for grass as far as I can remember.

Also, if I remember correctly, it does not like to have the roots cramped in a pot either. And the roots are prolific growers. Perhaps that's why it's not often seeen as bonsai, although it does have a nice look to it.

As with any bamboo I'm sure you have to thin it regularly to control it.
