When you ask for advice about your bonsai, please help us to identify the tree in question by giving its name if possible or a fair description of leaf type, colour of bark etc.

It will also be helpful to know where you live and where the tree is kept, what medium it is planted in, when it was last re-potted and how you water it, by routine or as needed.

This will save us from asking and answering backwards and forwards as much and will give you answers much quicker.

If you need to show us a photograph, direct attachments to this particular forum 'Talk bonsai' are not possible although the other forums do accept them from full members. Meanwhile post your photographs to a free hosting site such as http://www.photobucket.com copy the URL address and put that on here for us to download and see them please.

May I also suggest that you put a few details into your profile. At least a clue as to your whereabouts. The button is the brown one in the heading marked 'My Profile'

Don't let this put you off - PLEASE ASK AWAY - I'd like to encourage any reluctant people to post either questions or comments. Its been said before but remember, the only silly questions are the ones that are not asked. We answer them all cheerfully, no matter how many times they have come up before.

I notice more and more people are signing on to BonsaiHelp but precious few are putting anything at all in their profile. Perhaps I was using the wrong colour so here is a green request to put a few details in. Mr. Green
