I'm wondering if I should give ALL my tree an application of Superthrive as their first feeding this Spring???Also,I'm wondering if it is to early here in Newfoundland to start any type of Fertilizing???Only two of my trees are showing new/fresh buds.Temps are slowly rising here.Where getting an occasional day on the plus side.Thanks!!!

I don't think i would be in any hurry to fertilize them, wait till the weather warms up a bit more and the new growth gets a bit more advanced. But Superthive is only a tonic not a feed.
But that's just my opinion, see what the others say first.

Yes I agree.
Dutch, you will be at least three weeks behind some of us. To administer feed which will not be taken up is inadviseable. |

I just gave my trees that are leafing out their first does of fertilizer. My maples leaves are opening up fast and the others are not too far behind. Most trees has a backup reserve of food which is how they are able to push growth in the spring, not sure if the roots are actively taking up nutrients. But usually I only will fertilize once they have leaves.
Those in bud stage did not receive any fertilizer. Those that have been recently repotted also did not receive any fertilizer. I will be applying weekly fertilizer until I make up some fertilizer balls (about a month) |

| Superthrive isn't a fertilizer. It's a mizture of plant vitamins. So you can use it now when you water the trees. But fertilizer should wait at least until the buds swell. |
