Hi, All
Could some one be able to explain why some of the new needles have swelled, a bit like tiny cones, and turned purple.
I know they are not cones! |

Done some more research on this one and took my tree down to the Bonsai club night, It turns out that the tiny little purple coloured cone shapes are in-fact- white pine FLOWER |

My botany is pretty rusty but I seem to remember that pines and other conifers don't have flowers! What is called the "flower" is the male cone.
What the hell! Does it matter? I don't think so! I just take pleasure in calling things by the right name if possible. SJ |
