Just started removing the Candles from my Three Pines.I know I've asked this question here before, but I'm going to ask again.Do I have to remove Needles also.I want my Needles to be shorter and more denser. So my memory is telling I have to remove Needles as well???I did a search and couldn't find an answer to my question on here. Thanks!!!

It's a long, involved subject Chris and I can't explain it better than Brent.

generally you should be reducing the length of candles.

All needles only last for 2 years on the tree. If you keep on top of candle length, watering and fertilizing you should eventually end up with a lovely tree

Like Don said it is a long involved subject, confusing too so look to published work or others work for the best info. It seems like everyone has a different idea on how to go about working with candles so once you pick a method stick to it for a few years and then make your own decision.

Not all needles last 2 years, it depends on the species.
