how do i know when to give up on my tree.
its had no leaves for 3 weeks now and no new ones ar growing

If you try scratching a little of the bark back with your fingernail, if it is brown underneath then give up on it because its dead Sad . If it is green or white underneath persevere with it as it is still alive and may well start to put on new growth in the future Very Happy

i checked its green. should i prune any of the branches as they feel very dry and brittle

If they are brown under the bark it will not hurt to cut them back, cut back to live wood(green under the bark) and put some wound sealant on
