It has been drawn to our attention that the spell checker is none functional on Bonsai Help. This could be a server error on the spell checker database.
Can I request that if you are having problems, please disable it in your profile.
Simply go to
http://www.bonsaihelp.co.uk/profile.php?mode=editprofile
Find the option : Always check Spelling before posting:
and tick the NO radio button
Then update your profile by pressing SUBMIT at the bottom of the page.
I apologise for this and we are working to resolve the problem.

Thanks Andrew. This is the suggestion that I have been giving to sufferers. I have often advocated turning the spell check off because it doesn't recognise latin names. =Don. |

OK Don, see where you are coming from on this one.
When it is resolved perhaps we should disable it on new signups and then if the new member wants to spell check they have to enable it in the profile?
Hope you are well |

Its always burst my head but never looked to see if it could be turned off.
Wasn't till i couldn't post over the past few days that it became a "real" issue.
Thanks for the email to sort it out
Might be a good idea to disable for all new sign ups as you say |

You can of course use the spell checker on the Google Tool bar, if you have that tool bar that is. You can add stuff to it as well, like Latin Names.

The spell checker is now functional now again.
I will work out how to disable the spell checker on signup and let you know when this job has been completed.
Thanks |

The spell checker had been disabled on signup.
I will remove the spell checker completely when I get back in the UK next week as it keeps going down and not 100% like it used to be.
Thanks |

| It always worked for me, but then I don't always check my spelling. Anyone notice that lately? |

I had the same problem when I signed up. If (like me) you have trouble with spelling then I highly recommend you install Firefox, it's a free alternative web browser which has a built in spell checker. You will need to add the English (British) dictionary after installation which you can find here.
Hope that helps
