|
|
I have 3 wisteria that i'm training as bonsai. Two are around 7 years old (one taken from a cutting...one was bought from woolworths. The third was bought a few weeks ago and despite being 14" high, it has flower buds on it.
I really don't expect the cutting to flower for many years...if at all but the bought one has been pruned as any wisteria should (pruned in summer and winter to create spurs).
So should i be doing anything different. The plants look lovely without flowers but it would be the icing on the cake.
Any help gratefully received.

I bought my wisteria when it was quite young, around 3 to 4 years old. I've had it two years now and this is the first spring it has flowered! It looks lovely. Last summer, I kept its "feet" always wet by standing it in a tray with water, I also put a little baby bio fertilizer in the tray with the water (as suggested by the bonsai nursery were I bought it) and voila' I have flowers!!
