Hello.
I don't have a local club, the nearest being in Swindon, which is in the north of the county and a long way to travel without a car, but I see that the UK Bonsai Exhibtion is held in Bath, which is ten miles away and easily reachable by public transport.
Hoping to attend my very first Bonsai exhibition..............................
Details below:
Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May
Britains most prestigious bonsai event
The Joy of Bonsai '05, Britain's most prestigious bonsai event at the
Sports Centre, North Parade Road, Bath.
Saturday 7th (11am - 5pm)
and Sunday 8th (10am - 5pm) May 2005
Simultaneous demonstrations will be given on both days by:
Jurgen Zaar, Hans Van Meer, Jean-Paul Polmans,
Alex Evelyn, Graham Potter, Darren MacKay
There will also be an exhibition of some of Britains best bonsai
and many trade stands.
Admission:
Adult : Single Day 5, Double Day 8
Children (5-15) : 2
Tickets on the door.
Anyone wishing to exhibit trees should contact 01275 393 010 before end of March. Preference will be given to trees never before exhibited at Bath.
...................................................................... ........................................
Something to look forward to.
Bye,
Penny. |

Let me know if you do, or anyone else. Quite happy to burn them to CD, as long as they are kept for private viewing.

Penny,
Yes Lee is back, Last time he did pines and I took a black pine, he said chop it off low and let it grow, Fortunately I did not take his advice, and it looks good now. I went to Mendip Bonsai Studio and John had a very different idea of what to do with it.
We are going to the meeting Unfortunately I don't have and Azalea to take for the table show.
Next time you will need plenty of money and a large van, it's the auction, and last year there were a lot of trees!!
See you there,
Geoff |

I wouldn't argue with Lee if I were you. Thats one powerful looking bloke. Don't mention my name either or he'll hit you again. |

Yes okay, I was the last so I did not have to decided to chop it, but several others did, he is a nice guy though, and I enjoyed his chat.

See you there, Geoff. Hadn't realized there was a TOTM this time. Will bring my little azalea, if I can squeeze it into Sandra and Clive's little car they have until the Insurers sort out the accident Clive had that wrecked his new car - he'd only had it for 20 days!
Thanks for the advice about the auction. Sounds like fun!
Will keep "mum", stymie. If he asks, I've never heard of you.
Bye. |
