Confused Ok so my husband bought me a juniper for our anniversary(mail order) and it was doing OK at first that I could see... I water it as instructed when soil feels dry. but now foliage is drying out... I pulled a bunch off of it and thought that it would be better after that, but now the healthy foliage (or what I thought was healthy) is drying out as well. I keep it inside, because the the instructions said that it doesn't need alot of sun, but I am wondering if maybe I should put it outside. Is my air conditioning affecting it as well... I don't want to kill my bonsai... please help

Definitely put it outside in a semi-shaded spot, do not feed it until it starts to recover well. The dry indoor environment will kill it. Be sure.
Good luck.
John.

I second John's words. Certainly get it outside in midday shade immediately and keep it there. There may not be any new growth for a few weeks as Junipers have two bursts of growth each year with a quiet period in between. Water daily to keep the compost from drying out and don't feed until new growth starts maybe in August.

Catherine,
You need to keep the tree outside. Inside it will die. Water it from above, this will help the tree get the oxygen it needs in the roots. Also do not feed/fertilize it until it gets better.

Please put the tree outside in a nice little shady location where it will get morning to early noon sun but then its in the shade.

Thank you for all your advice...I did actually put it outside after I sent the first post... and am misting it quite frequently... but as for watering... will daily watering be to much, or is that OK? Thank you again. Smile

Just keep it moist. It doesn't need to be waterlogged. Once everything is back on track introduce it to more light.

Way to stick with it. Keep in touch and come back with any more questions or comments. We would love to hear how your class goes and what the instructor tells you. Every new point of view is helpful as we all work our way through this learning experience.
