I have just ordered the brand new book "Japanese Satsuki Bonsai" from Harry Tomlinson. I will add a review in the Hardware forum when it arrives. By all accounts it should be an interesting read (the book that is).

I'm looking forward to this one. There hasn't been anything in English really since Alexander Kennedy's books, which are long out of print and never seem to come up on eBay either. Shame really as it's a good read.

Interesting to hear what you think of it. Will take a look on line.
The big Satsuki that came with the Japanese Serissa has flowers, darker than "Nikko's" with a white centre. Lovely.

Have just been out to take a photo. It's not a good one as the light is going but it gives you an idea of the colouring. Lovely to have the tree.
Seems that I can't post it here so will put it in "Show Us Yours".
