| All bonsai books are useful Kev and I understand that Bonsai basics is well thought of. You've already got one more book than I have. Practical experience is useful too. We await your pictures with pleasure. |

That's the problem with bonsai, they breed like rabbits!! There is always room for just one more.

| I lied about only having two books on bonsai. I've found two more which hadn't seen daylight for a decade plus. |

I recently bought a copy of 'Complete Book of Bonsai', before realising I owned it already.

| Harry's, no doubt. Why don't you advertise it for sale. You can probably call it an autographed copy. He signed a great many. |

I gave my older copy to my dad's mate. He used to keep bonsai in the 70s, but he's just come back to the UK after living 20 odd years abroad. He's a bit rusty, so I thought the book would do him good. He's keeps giving me trees now. I've had 3 Hornbeams and a few other bits and bobs already.

Kev-
I don't know much about the second book but Harry is never wrong-as they say and I've read the third book and it was well written. Don't be disturbed by any discrepencies you may find between the three books this is common and there is more than one way to skin a cat. |

This may sound odd, but one of the things I like about the trees in Harry Tomlinson's books is that the trees are far from perfect, and a few appear quite amateurish (a few). As a beginner, I found that quite helpful, as I wasn't overwhelmed by the trees and I could see what is expected of a newly trained bonsai.

| There are a few on this forum who have a copy of my personal bonsai library bibliography. It's several pages in length (all right, so it's 10 pages in length) and "yes" I own them all (all 146 of them). My wife thinks I'man obsessive-compulsive when it comes to bonsai books. But I tend to think as Neo said, they all serve a purpose. |

I have to say that Craig Coussins is my favorite author. His book BonsaiSchool is superb in my opinion. I own about 10 or 15 books or booklets. I was getting them all the time from my wife but now she's gone so I have to buy them myself |
