i got this tree in canada (williams lake) and brought it back to idaho (us). its new growth is already drooping and i just repotted it.
anything i should do to heal it or should i just let it heal on its own?

| It's probably in shock from being collected. Collecting in itself can be hard on them but being so late in the year it's going to be rough on it. Keep out of direct sun for a while and give it some superthrive (or other vitamin B tonics) to help ease the stress. |

Peanuts hi.
Steve has the right idea. Patience is the watchword for you. Don't be in a hurry about styling. That is a young tree and there'll be plenty of advice coming when it has recovered and is hale and hearty. Bear in mind that this specie needs rather less water than the majority of trees so don't overdo the watering.
Were there any restrictions about bringing it over the border? |

| All in good time. Let's get it better first. While it heals picture how you would like it to look when it's finished. You could hang tags on branches to mark them for pruning (or keeping it's your choice). Bonsai is a long process and if you stress the tree any more now you will probably kill it. |

ok i repotted recently and the soil i am using is straight potting soil. i think i might have pushed the soil too tightly soo the water kinda sits on the soil, and eventually drains in.
what is a basic soil i could mix or order online??? |

| Your potting soil could be improved by the addition of half as much coarse grit PN next time that you re-pot. This would not be as much of a shock as using different compost altogether. Don't be in a hurry to do this until spring. Its had enough to put up with pro tem. |

| Your tree is a Canadien hemlock. They are notoriously difficult to transplant especially into a largely differnt living environment. They usuallt go into shock and my even drop their needles. That's why you don't see them very often used as bonsai material. |
