I'm thinking of doing a heavy trunk bend using the wedge technique
When would be the best time to do this?
Its on a podocarpus |

That is a slow growing species Jon and I think that it will take a longish time to set in a new position. Its likely to be taking place through the various seasons so start at any time and move it slowly.
If you reduce its fluid intake for a few days beforehand it may bend a little easier. |

So would you say i use the wedge technique because i don't want to use wired if not needed
i usually use raffia to hold things in place using other branches |

| You said a heavy trunk so wire will probably not do it for you and if it did, it would be cutting into the bark well before the job is done. |
