Is there any advantage to using rooting hormone when repotting a complete tree?

I don't think so, unless you think you cut off WAY to much roots. It is mainly for sprouing roots. It normally should do fine.

The only real reason to use rooting hormone when repotting if it is a tree that you have dug from the ground and you are potting it. If the tree has large roots but none of the small fiberous ones then put some rooting hormone on the roots then. Otherwise only use rooting hormone for cuttings and air layers.

you could try superthrive instead of rooting hormone. it is more fit for purpose, stimulates root growth and kind of de-stresses the tree a little following repotting.

Yes. If you have cut any large roots or if you have to remove roots because of rot, they you either seal the large wounds with cut paste, or dust them with rooting powder/gel. Powder seems more effective for potting reasons. Seal the cut if you want the root gone. If you have to remove half of a large root because of rot or it is just to long but want it to root. Dust it. It does have it place in re-potting. Not like Superthrive though. Use ST on everything you re-pot.

Does B1 do the same thing as ST?

Save me.
I've managed for most of my life without any of these things. They might give a slight edge but their main object seems to be profit for the manufacturers.
BG. B1 is the main constituent of Superthrive. |
