I found this picture in a book on Chinese Penjing. I never would have thought Wormwood could be suitable as a Bonsai species, but there it is.
If anyone's interested, Wormwood grows as a herb in it's first year. It will easily attain a height of 2m (6') in its first or second year if well fed and watered and grown in full sun.
After that, its stem becomes very woody and if it's roots are restricted, it will grow slowly and produce very little height.
The only thing I've noticed is that mine have a resident aphid colony. Although, as I've mentioned before, I do grow it to attract aphids to give my ladybirds something to eat. Even then, it doesn't seem bothered that it has several hundred aphids dining on it for six months of the year.
Um, I don't seem to be able to post attachments at the moment.

Hi, you can't post attachments in Talk Bonsai. If you are a subscribed member you can post them in any other board.
I've also increased the quota size from 10MB to 50MB for each subscribed member.
I got your PM.
Thanks |
