I have a White Pine and the needles have started turning yellow , they start with a small yellow patch then it increases and then turns brown .
It is kept in full sun and is potted in KIRYU ,
I suspect needle cast , anybody any other suggestions ???

Tim

I live in Cheshire , England

Pines don't need as much water as you might imagine, particularly if recently re-potted. When was it potted and why Kiryu? Is it grafted or on its own roots?
Meanwhile give it partial shade. Someone may be able to diagnose a deficiency, keep watching for developments.

hi tiswas
if it is have read that pine needle cast can be cured by applying a good copper based fungicide at regular intervals throughout the summer.
good luck

The fact that the needles are browning from the middle of the needles outward sounds suspiciously like a fungus.

The trouble is that white pines are so darn tough that they resist almost any such attacks. So I'm not as certain as I would like to be on the fungus attack. Can you post a photo?

The grafted ones are even more robust than those on their own roots. As a precaution, I don't think that a spray with fungicide is going to do any harm. In the absence of one, you could use a very dilute cupric sulphate solution. A mere pinch in a pint of water is plenty strong enough. Keep us in the picture.
